For the last three decades, Mirang Wonne has embodied natural forms in unexpected mediums such as copper or stainless steel mesh, 24k gold leaf, combining her more traditional mediums such as oil, actylic, wax or charcoal. She uses primarily industrial materials that paradoxically amplify the organic intensity of those forms, capitalizing on their physical and optical peculiarities. Her work, in the words of Peter Frank, “force[s] us to marvel not just at what she’s done, but to marvel at nature itself—the nature not only of organic forms such as Wonne renders, but of inorganic substances such as she manipulates in her rendering.”

Mirang Wonne has had solo exhibitions at venues such as Korean Pavillion at Asian Art Museum in San Francisco; Triton Museum in Santa Clara; De Saisset Museum in Santa Clara; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery; Pacific Heritage Museum, San Francisco; Villa Montalvo, Saratoga; Parc Floral de Vincennes, Paris; Gallery Sun Contemporary, Seoul; and many other San Francisco Bay area galleries. She has also participated in group exhibitions at San Francisco Fine Art Fair, the Musee d’Art Moderne and Grand Palais, Paris; Musee de Lille, Lille; San Francisco Art MRKT, San Francisco; LA Art Fair, Los Angeles; Palm Springs Modernism and Los Angeles Modernism, Triton Museum, Santa Clara; Red Dot Art Fair, New York; Sung Gok Museum, Seoul; and Inchon Emigration Museum, Inchon.

Her work is collected and shown in a number of major museums and public spaces including the Stanford Cancer Center Southbay in San Jose; the Seoul City Museum Seoul, Korea; De Saisset Museum in Santa Clara; Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Sunnyvale, Keiser Permanante Medical in Santa Clara, Ritz Carlton Hotel in San Francisco, Triton Museum of Art, Santa Clara; and Musee d’Art Moderne de Paris, Paris, France to name few.
