On the subject of great landscape art, critic Kenneth Clark argues that three elements are essential. They are; “joy in the perception of fact, an imaginative sense of the force and mystery of nature and a feeling for the unifying element of light.” In his pastel and oil paintings of the California landscape, Bay-Area artist Brian Blood not only captures these elements but appears to hold them for ranson.
